Newly opened in Midtown Manhattan, YŪGIN is an intimate 12 seat omakase destination set on the 37th floor of the General Motors Building and home to NYC’s highest sushi counter. Led by chef Eugeniu Zubco, who trained for a decade under Masa Takayama, the experience is shaped in real time by seasonality, ingredient availability, and the energy of the room. Rare seafood is sourced directly from Japan’s most prestigious auctions and prepared with meticulous restraint, allowing purity, texture, and balance to take center stage. Each evening unfolds over roughly two and a half hours as a quiet, deeply personal progression of dishes that will never be repeated. Floor to ceiling windows frame unobstructed views of Central Park and the Upper East Side, reinforcing the philosophy of ichigo ichie, where every moment is singular and fleeting.
