The Art of Matcha and Mindfulness

A Four-Part Summer Workshop Series Presented by Ki-Chu New York at Michelin-Starred Kosaka

75 min·

Slow down, center yourself, and enter the quiet elegance of Japanese tea culture.

Matcha Time for Mindfulness is a seasonal workshop series that invites you into the ritual of matcha as a path to presence, beauty, and calm. Held inside Kosaka, a Michelin-starred sushi restaurant in the West Village, each 75-minute session offers a gentle pause from the rush of daily life.

- Whisk matcha of the highest quality from Uji, Kyoto, celebrated for its depth and grounding energy

- Sip from handcrafted chawans by ceramic artist Kifumi Kawamura, each bowl an expression of wabi-sabi

- Savor delicate sweets, including traditional wagashi or refined Western-style pairings

- Learn the cultural foundations of the Japanese tea ceremony—its tools, etiquette, and meditative philosophy

Whether you're new to tea, curious about Japanese traditions, or simply seeking a peaceful creative reset, this series offers a meaningful way to reconnect with the present moment.

Each session explores a different aspect of The Way of Tea—through tactile practice, thoughtful insight, and quiet celebration.
