What we make with brands
Our audience
A design readership, led from New York
The desk is in New York and so is most of the readership. The rest read us in the cities we publish and in the ones they are flying to next.
- Where they read
Close to three in four readers are in New York, and the rest reach us from 142 countries in the last four months, led by London, Copenhagen, Milan, Paris, Stockholm and Seoul. Beyond New York the weight sits in design cities more than in tourist ones.
- How they read
Most of what they open is a place or a guide, and four in five do it on a phone. Readers arrive with somewhere to be rather than time to fill.
- What they do next
A reader is usually deciding where to eat, stay and go, often for that same week. A partnership reaches them at that point rather than earlier.
The company we keep
Brands, houses and tourism boards we have worked with. Partnership work is made to the same standard as everything else we publish.
What we make
One way in
A feature is not a paid post. A curator comes to your place and writes it the way the guides are written, it publishes as a labelled article on the site and in Exqz Guide, and it runs on our channel. The post scrolls away and the article does not, which is the part a media buy does not give you.
Scale and cost follow the place and the market. Tell us both and we will come back with what a feature there would take.
Owned channels
Editorial feature
We publish city guides, and a feature is made the way the guides are made. A curator comes to your place and writes it to the standard the guide is held to. A photographer comes as well if you want new pictures, and if you do not, we work with the images you already have. It publishes as an article, labelled as a partnership, and runs on @exqzguide.
- For
- One story, one channel
- Shape
- A single visit, written by us, published once. Photography optional.
Selected work
What one of these looks like.
Two published pieces, a hotel and a maison. One came out of a press trip, the other was paid for. Both were written the way the rest of the guide is written, and that is easier to show than to describe.
- Press trip
Alpine Elegance Meets Golfside Warmth at Guarda Golf
A hotel explained through what its staff will actually do for a guest.
- Brand partnership
Expressions of Harmony: Dom Pérignon Turns Three Vintages Into One Conversation
A tasting written as a story about time, not a product page.
Partnership content
Work made with a brand, an agency or a tourism board is labelled at the top of the piece, every time. We are paid for it or hosted for it, the partner previews it and signs it off, and it never buys a place in the guide.
