Unique Stores Around the World
The best shops have always been more than places to buy things; they are destinations in their own right. Across continents and neighborhoods, a new wave of retail spaces is redefining what it means to walk through a door, whether that means a fleeting pop-up that transforms a city block for a season or a permanent address so thoughtfully designed it feels closer to an art installation. From the ancient streets of Europe to the creative enclaves of New York, these are the stores that make the journey part of the experience.

Titlis Tower
Rolex just opened its highest boutique on earth, and reaching it requires a cable car. Perched at 3,020 meters near the summit of Mount Titlis in central Switzerland, the new Rolex Boutique sits inside the recently opened Titlis Tower, a former 1980s telecommunications tower dramatically reimagined by architects Herzog & de Meuron into a cross-shaped landmark inspired by the Swiss flag. Operated by longtime Rolex partner Bucherer, the boutique pairs the brand's signature design, including a Verde Alpi marble wall and natural stone and wood finishes, with floor-to-ceiling glazing that turns the surrounding glacier and Alpine panorama into the real showpiece. Beyond the watches, the tower also offers the Horizon Deck observation platform and Joseph's Restaurant, making a summit excursion just 30 minutes from Lucerne feel like stepping into another world.
Aime Leon Dore
Aimé Leon Dore, the New York label that has quietly become one of the most influential brands in contemporary fashion, just opened its first Los Angeles flagship on April 17 at 8746 Melrose Avenue in West Hollywood, marking the brand's third permanent location after New York and London. Developed with Sarita Posada Interiors, the Mediterranean-inspired space features soft stucco walls, a cobblestone courtyard anchored by an 80-year-old olive tree sourced from California's Central Valley, and the brand's signature Café Leon Dore, complete with a custom La Marzocco espresso machine. The opening also marks the global debut of ALD's women's collection, making this more than just a new outpost on the map and a signal of where the brand is headed next.
New Balance Run House
Corsie Sistine di Santo Spirito in Sassia
For the Rome Marathon 2026, New Balance did something no running brand had done before: it took over one of Rome's most storied Renaissance spaces and turned it into a runner's sanctuary. The Corsie Sistine, a 120-meter-long hall originally built in 1478 by Pope Sixtus IV as one of the world's first municipal hospitals, was transformed into the New Balance Run House, a three-day wellness and recovery hub just steps from St. Peter's Basilica on the banks of the Tiber. The space was divided into two areas: Sala Lancisi, dedicated to meditation, sound baths, and breathwork, and Sala Baglivi, focused on recovery, product discovery, and running culture. In bringing the space back to its original purpose of caring for people, New Balance made a compelling case that running is about far more than the finish line.
DIOR Bamboo Pavilion
Recently opened in Tokyo's Daikanyama district, the Dior Bamboo Pavilion is the French house's most ambitious concept store in Asia yet, spanning 1,800 square meters across a striking golden bamboo facade that glows like a lantern after dark. The first major retail concept to showcase the collections of new creative director Jonathan Anderson, the pavilion blends Versailles-style parquet flooring and Parisian mouldings with washi paper walls, a Zen garden, and a koi pond, in a deep collaboration with around 20 Japanese artists and designers. The experience culminates at Café Dior, where three-Michelin-starred chef Anne-Sophie Pic presents an exclusive menu bridging French cuisine with Japanese flavors.
SABYASACHI
Set within the landmark Archive building in the West Village, SABYASACHI’s 5,800-square-foot New York flagship feels less like a boutique and more like an exquisitely curated museum of contemporary Indian luxury. Visitors move through a labyrinth of richly layered rooms framed by finely crafted oak arches, custom wallpapers, stained concrete plinths, and vitrines filled with 16th-century artifacts, turn-of-the-century furniture, and art by the Sabyasachi Art Foundation. Here, the designer’s celebrated bridal and occasion wear, jewelry, and accessories are presented as heirlooms in waiting, celebrating India’s heritage with a confident, global point of view that has drawn acclaim from Vogue, Architectural Digest, and Town & Country. It is a destination where fashion, history, and interiors converge into a heightened sensory journey that feels both opulent and deeply personal.
