Kissa Kissa
Cocktail bar

Kissa Kissa

Crown Heights·4.9 (148)·$20–30

Photography by Kissa Kissa

Kissa Kissa represents the first authentic iteration of Japan's storied jazz kissa tradition in the United States, transporting visitors to a sanctuary where music, design, and craftsmanship converge. Opened by Danny de Zayas and Nina Barry, this Crown Heights gem captures the essence of a Japanese listening room-a place where the world slows down and vinyl records become the evening's main event. The intimate space is adorned with custom paintings celebrating jazz legends, while hi-fi speakers positioned at the bar's center deliver pristine sound quality, recently enhanced with high-end speaker cones. Beyond the auditory experience, the bar offers specialty cocktails infused with East Asian influences, featuring Japanese whiskey, sake, and shochu alongside herbs like shiso and pandan, creating a multisensory symphony that honors both the music and the craft.
