Pebble Bar
Nestled within a historic 1830s brownstone townhouse at the corner of 49th Street and Sixth Avenue—adjacent to Rockefeller Center—Pebble Bar offers an intimate escape that channels the golden age of New York nightlife with timeless sophistication. The four-story establishment, which has housed a bar for over 150 years, features a multi-level layout that unfolds across distinct floors: a welcoming ground-floor foyer with warm oak paneling and mosaic tiles, a second-floor pub with a central backlit glass and brass bar overlooking Sixth Avenue, and a moody third-floor dining room bathed in a dark blue palette with curved leather banquettes, marble-lined oyster bar, and brass table lamps. The design, by Gachot Studios, evokes classic London members clubs through curved millwork, colorful patterned wallpaper, mercury mirrors, and upholstered wall panels, while black-and-white photographs and vintage details throughout pay homage to the building's storied past—including its time as the legendary Hurley's, frequented by Jack Kerouac, Johnny Carson, and other cultural icons.
