Queens Museum
Steeped in the legacy of two World’s Fairs, the Queens Museum welcomes visitors into a bright and expansive setting where New York’s history meets contemporary art and culture. The building, originally designed by Aymar Embury II for the 1939 World’s Fair and later reimagined by Grimshaw Architects, combines its historic structure with a sweeping glass facade that brings natural light into the heart of the museum. At the center is the Panorama of the City of New York, a 9,335 square foot scale model created for the 1964 Fair that offers a remarkable, block by block view of the entire city. Through dynamic exhibitions, community centered programs, and a close relationship with Flushing Meadows Corona Park, the Queens Museum stands as a vibrant space for creativity, inclusion, and urban imagination.
